This DVD includes both the extrememly popular first "Faces of Death" (1978, 88 min.) feature plus "Faces of Death: Fact or Fiction?" (1999, 60 min.). Ever since the original "Faces of Death" sparked an international controversy over its graphic depiction of death, rumors have run rampant over the authenticity of some of the scenes. That portion of the controversy is laid to rest in "Faces of Death: Fact of Fiction?" Creator/director Conan Le Cilaire reveals the secrets behind such infamous scenes as the monkey brain meal, the executions, animal slaughter, leg amputation and autopsies, among others. "'Faces of Death' is based entirely on factual incidents. Yes, some of sequences were simulated... there were incidents where we couldn't get the actual footage," says Le Cilaire
