    Suzanne Lloyd is the granddaughter of Harold Lloyd and was raised by him and his wife, Mildred David Lloyd, at Greenacres, their estate in Los Angeles (she often refers to Harold as "Dad"). She is the president of Harold Lloyd Entertainment and has dedicated her career to preserving and promoting Harold's film legacy. in this introduction, she discusses Safety Last! and its place in his career.

    Harold Lloyd produced numerous one- and two-reel films featuring his "Glasses character", the one he plays in Safety Last!. Presented here, for the first time, are new digital restorations of three of those films. They are accompanied by optional audio commentary by director and Harold Lloyd archivist Richard Correll and film writer John Bengtson.

      In this one-reel film from 1918, Harold Lloyd stars with his frequent leading lady Bebe Daniels. The two were inseparable, both personally and professionally, from 1915 to 1919, and made more than 150 movies together, before Daniels moved on to a career in dramatic films.       Harold Lloyd was the ultimate Jazz Age figure, according to Carl Davis, who composed the jazz-inspired score for Safety Last!. Lloyd's Young Mr. Jazz, a 1919 one-reel short, is set in one of that era's quintessential locales, a speakeasy.       His Royal Slyness, a two-reel short from 1920, is one of Harold Llyod's earliest films in which he costars with Mildred Davis, who took over as his leading lady after the departure of Bebe Daniels. The two were married in 1923. Davis also appeared in Safety Last!, after which she retired from acting in Lloyd's films.
