    Two years after its Australian release, Mad Dog Morgan played British and American cinemas in a shorter version. Retitled Mad Dog, the film removed or curtailed scenes, added opening and closing captions, and substituted some music cues. While these changes were carried out by the distributor, they were done with Philippe Mora's approval. The Director's Cut represents the longest available version, and includes a unique scene of Billy hunting which is not present in the original 1976 theatrical cut.
